Stuck at home? Can't make it to the gym? Not feeling the crap weather? Don't let that be an excuse to skip the all-important workout. Here is Lunita's list of tolerable workouts that help keep us in shape.
Summary
For some of us, working out at home is a new challenge. For some of us, working out at all during these times is a challenge. Here at Lunita, we believe regular exercise is part of living your best life. Getting the blood flowing, the heart rate pumping, and the body moving not only helps you stay fit, but it's a great way to improve sleep, boost your immune system, and reduce stress.
Here are some of the at-home workouts we have been doing since the quarantine began. We are rating their difficulty level on a scale of 1-5; 1 meaning as easy as they come, and 5 meaning come prepared to sweat and curse a few times at the monitor. They are in no particular order.
Lastly, always remember to listen to your body, make modifications as needed, and drink plenty of water before, during, and after your workouts. Happy sweating!
1. Abs for Days
This 30-minute HIIT workout focuses on working the core and abdominal section. It is a great workout for anyone looking to strengthen their mid-section while getting in a little cardio. We love you, Massy, but we hate those London bridges!
Difficulty level: 3.5
2: Cardio AF
This is for the days when you are not playing around; you are physically and emotionally prepared to push yourself, and then you'll push a little more. There is a decent amount of jumping, so apologize in advance to your downstairs neighbors. This workout leaves us feeling alive, accomplished, and ready for a cold shower.
Difficulty Level: 5
3: It's Truly Lit
This is another cardio-based workout that will have your legs and thighs burning in the best way possible. Come prepared to bring your A-game, and leave feeling like the most boss b*tch ever. There are lots of squats involved, and you will surely break a sweat mid-video, but it's worth it. No pain, no gain right?
Difficulty Level: 4.5
4: Do You, Boo Boo
So maybe it's been a while since you have been able to listen to your gym playlist. Sometimes responding on command to a guided workout can feel a bit old. We love this workout because of the rare opportunity to put it on mute. There is no talking, and the moves are straight forward. So bump whatever music you want, and get ready for a full-body workout that will leave you feeling amazing.
Difficulty Level: 3.5
5: Full Body Flow
Where would we be without the help of Yoga with Adriene? God only knows.
This Full Body Flow yoga practice has become an almost daily routine in our tiny-ass apartment. It awakens the body and brings a little heat, but won't leave you totally out of breath. Plus, we have noticed a major increase in strength and flexibility. A great workout any time of day!
Difficulty Level: 3
*Bonus Video: for When You Need Your Kids to Chill TF Out.
This short yoga adventure is based on the beloved children's book Wer'e Going on a Bear Hunt. It is great to help your little ones release some energy, teaches them a little about yoga, and it gives you a 15-minute break. We highly recommend it for days when you are stuck inside and you just can not anymore.
